The 4 Step Prayer Process For Complete Freedom & Peace

  1. Confession

  2. Forgiveness

  3. Cancelling the Debt

  4. Repentance

Step 1 — Confession Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Lord these attitudes and emotions of (name every attitude and emotions experienced) are not the fruit of the Holy Spirit. I confess them as sin. Lord, please forgive me for allowing bondage and control that is not from you, to come into my life, whether it be consciously or unconsciously, knowingly or unknowingly.

Lord, these negative emotions are not something that I carry in my hands. They are deep within me, part of my flesh and bones. I have tried to get rid of them, ignore them, control them and suppress them, but I’ve always failed. Lord, these feelings overwhelm me and I’m helpless and hopeless before them.

I believe in you and I believe that you have the power to set me free. I ask you to remove from me all these wrong emotions, feelings, and resultant behaviour. I am unable to help you with the process and if you do not come and set me free, I am going to be stuck with them. I am dependant upon you and despair of any plans or means of my own, or outside assistance and resort only to the hope I have in you. If there be any method that can promise me an escape from these difficulties, I look to you for it.

I thank you for being my deliverer and for setting me free, for it is written:

If I acknowledge and own up to my wrongdoing and offences, you Heavenly Father are trustworthy, sure, true and holy to lay aside all my wrongdoing and offences, and purge and purify me from all moral wrongfulness of character, life and action. (1John 1:9)

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,

Amen

1 John 1:9

Step 2 — Forgiveness Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Heavenly Father, thank you for your Holy Spirit who has revealed to me why (name behaved ….. and said ……). Father in the name of Jesus I forgive and release (name) from my heart.

I want to honour (name) and thank you for him/her/them. Heavenly Father if he/she/they had known you in your truth and love he/she/they would not have said those things nor behaved that way towards me. If he/she/they really knew how their words and actions would affect me he/she/they would not have said those things nor behaved that way. I want to say as Jesus said “Father forgive him/her/them for he/she/they did not know what he/she/they were doing” Now I am releasing him/her/them and setting him/her/them free in the name of Jesus and as a result I am now free to be who you created me to be.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for it is written:

You have given me the keys to the realm of heavenly happiness and power. You declared that whatever I have bound on earth is bound in heaven and whatever I have loosed here on earth is loosened and released in heaven. (Matthew 16:19; 18:18)

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,

Amen

Proverbs 13:20

Step 3— Cancelling the Debt Prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.

Forgive me for my judgment against (name) and any other person who has not met my expectation when it came to (state incident, not receiving what I expected). Now Heavenly Father, if I find that somebody does not treat me correctly, from now on it doesn’t matter. I can only say this because you, Heavenly Father, have promised me, by your New Covenant with Jesus of which I am a partaker, to provide all my needs, to take care of me and to protect me. I now commit my life and my decisions to you, and you have promised to guide me.

I now release, cancel, annul any debt that I feel is owed me. I cancel every word, thought or deed and judgment on my part against anybody or person or thing regarding this that I feel is owed me. I set myself free from its influence over my family and me. Thank you, Jesus!

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for it is written:

You are able to cause things to happen immediately, beyond and abundantly above all I ask for, desire, able to comprehend or perceive, and you do it by means of the miraculous and powerful Holy Spirit within me. (Ephesians 3:20)

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,

Amen

Step 4— Repentance Prayer

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I come to you and confess that I have wrong attitudes and a wrong way of thinking about (issue). Please forgive me from my wrong attitudes and wrong way of thinking. I ask that you, by your Holy Spirit in me, would open the eyes of my heart to see things from your perspective. Give me your revelation about (issue) so that by a new understanding my attitudes and thinking are changed.

Lord, I thank you for purifying my heart.

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth,

Amen
